On Friday March 16, 2012, the members of Teamsters Local 381 overwhelmingly voted to merge into Teamsters Local 986. This merger will increase the membership of Local 986 to 15,000 and widen our jurisdiction to organize new members. Local 986 will continue to maintain an office and staff in Santa Maria to better serve the members throughout the Central Coast of California. We want to welcome our new staff members Lynn Swenson, Dave Latimer, JJ Garcilazo, Susan Carlson and Debra Cano.The merger will take effect following the anticipated approval of the IBT General Executive Board.
